On his final lap, Gabby Chaves took pole position for the Firestone Indy Lights race at Mid-Ohio over Freedom 100 winner Peter Dempsey. The Colombian ran the fastest lap of the day at 1:13.3306, beating Dempsey by 0.1327 seconds. Toronto winner Jack Hawksworth will start third ahead of championship points leader Carlos Muñoz. Muñoz's Andretti Autosport teammate Zach Veach starts fifth.
Axcil Jefferies will start sixth in his Indy Lights debut ahead of Juan Pablo Garcia and Jorge Goncalvez. Sage Karam starts ninth after bringing out a red flag early and causing Karam to miss most of the session. Canadian Matthew Di Leo will start tenth with Giancarlo Serenelli rounding out the field in eleventh.
Tomorrow's Firestone Indy Lights race will be at noon ET with the race broadcast being shown on NBCSN at 2:00 p.m. ET.
