He might have already clinched the title but that did not stop Jamie Whincup on the final Saturday of the 2014 season. The Red Bull Racing Holden driver swept the two Saturday races with the second ending prematurely due to rain.

Mother nature reeked havoc on race two from Sydney. The race started under dry conditions with Jason Bright on pole position however Whincup charged from fourth position to the lead by the end of the first lap.
Most drivers played it safe, getting wet weather tires well before the heavy rains came. When it started to pour, visibility became horrific and ultimately led to the race being put under safety car conditions and ultimately led to the race being red flagged. The race was called after 23 of a scheduled 37 laps were completed.
Whincup led 22 of 23 laps in race two on way to his fourteenth victory with Van Gisbergen making it a Holden 1-2. McLaughlin gave Volvo their first podium at Sydney with a third place finish. It is McLaughlin's and the Swedish manufactures' tenth podium of the season. Pole-sitter Bright came home in fourth and was the only other driver to lead a lap in race two. Winterbottom recovered from his accident in race one to round out the top five in race two.
Courtney finished sixth with Slade in seventh. Michael Caruso was the top Nissan driver in eighth. Scott Pye finished ninth and as in race one, Garth Tander rounded out the top ten. The only driver to retire from race two was David Wall who got caught out on slick and spun into the barrier on lap 16.
Heading into the final race of the 2014 season, Whincup has padded his championship lead to 529 points over Winterbottom.
